getAnExportedSymbol() has a complex implementation that I'd rather not want to migrate given that it's only used by a dead query.

getAnExportedSymbol()has a complex implementation that makes it hard to do certain refactorings, and given that it's only used by a dead query, I'd rather just remove it and remove the query that's using it.
